Indian Butter Chicken!!!!! :D

Unitato foooooooooooooood blog entry #3
Indian Butter Chicken

The Indian butter chicken's sauce was burnt so i added more tomato puree and yoghurt to make up for presentation. I feel that I could have done better watching the chicken more carefully, since it was burnt, I didn't try it. The chicken did seem okay but the sauce was brownish. It seemed really "grainy" and smelt sour.

Ondeh ondehhhhhh!!!!!!

My fabulous ondeh ondeh
Unitato foooooooooooooood blog entry #2
Ondeh ondeh

Ondeh ondeh, a rather famous nyonya dish. We made this in class for our second practical. We had a choice of filling rather than the usual gula melaka. We made fillings of gula melaka and peanut. Some had mixed while some was pure gula melaka or pure peanut filling. We also had a choice of sprinkling peanut over the ondeh ondeh instead of the coconut flakes. It was a refreshing break from baking as we had been doing baking throughout 2014. For garnish, i stacked the ondeh ondeh into a pyramid and then making circles of the remaining gula melaka and peanut. The plate used to serve adds a "nyonya feel" for our presentation.

TASTE TEST
8/10
soft and chewy with enough gula melaka inside.
I allowed some of my friends to try the ondeh ondeh and my friend commented: " mmmmm nice! i like :P! Got the sugar thing inside alot so very nice!" ( singlish :P )

Sword duck online :P!!!!!

"Sword Duck Online"

Fondant modeling

Using fondant, we were instructed to sculpt ducks. I used yellow food colouring to the white fondant to create the yellow colour. I used a white base to create contrast between the duck and the base. Using edible black marker, I drew the duck's eyes and eyebrows. The duck was based on the anime " Sword Art Online" but really is a fail :P
To construct a model using fondant is simple and using very few ingredients.

Ingredients for fondant modeling:
Fondant
Food colouring ( of your choice )
Edible marker ( optional )
Your imagination and creativity

My  "Sword Duck Online" fondant model and my friend's kewt little duckie on cupcakes <3
After modeling the fondant, I put my little duck on a cupcake. Here's a picture of me and my friend's final product. Fondant modeling is fun, simple and really cute. It can be used for events such as parties or a way to "kill time" productively. I feel that the ducks we made were really cute! You can choose whatever you want to sculpt using fondant, the only thing stopping you is your imagination and creativity.
